Capital Swing Convention's Induction

This event is put on by
the Capital Swing Dancers club of
Sacramento, CA, established 1984.
Almost 10 years later, they began putting on the Capital Swing Dancers’ Presidents’ Day Weekend Swing Dance Championships that eventually was shortened to “Capital Swing” or “Capital” by its attendees. Capital has hosted and facilitated so many amazing experiences for attendees for 29 years, and we are due for some more. There will be tremendous learning opportunities, competitions, performances, and social dancing weekend long!
Event Affiliations
- We are currently members of the World Swing Dance Council (WSDC) as a registry event, for the benefit of our competitors, as they are able to earn points via successful results which allows them to move up in the Jack & Jill divisional ranks. -
- We are members of NASDE (National Association of Swing Dance Events), which allows our Classic and Showcase routine competitors to earn points at our event that count towards their NASDE ranking at the end of the year,
which includes significant monetary prizes. -
- We are members of The Rising Star Tour, which allows our Rising Star competitors to earn points that also count toward a ranking at the end of the year, which includes prizes focused on the participants continued development in their craft. -
- We are member of the National Fast Dance Association (NFDA) for music licensing purposes. -
- We are members of NASDE (National Association of Swing Dance Events), which allows our Classic and Showcase routine competitors to earn points at our event that count towards their NASDE ranking at the end of the year,
which includes significant monetary prizes. -
- We are members of The Rising Star Tour, which allows our Rising Star competitors to earn points that also count toward a ranking at the end of the year, which includes prizes focused on the participants continued development in their craft. -
- We are member of the National Fast Dance Association (NFDA) for music licensing purposes. -
